CA HI NAACP Virtual Town Hall

Join CA/HI NAACP for a Virtual Town Hall on Tuesday, August 31st from 5:30-7PM and learn how to take action NOW on imperative issues that impact our community, including:

  • Voter Education: CA/HI NAACP staff will provide an overview of how important voter engagement is for the upcoming recall election, how to submit your ballot, a ballot timeline and how we must do our part in voter education within the State of California and its importance within the African American Community.
  • CA COVID-19 Rent Relief (Housing is Key): Learn how to apply for financial assistance to assist renters and landlords in the state of California who are behind on current or future (through September) rent. Salena Pryor (Black Small Business Association of California) will provide an in-depth overview of who is eligible for the program and how to apply, followed by a Q&A session.
  • Redistricting: Political boundaries in the state of California are redrawn every ten years through a process called Redistricting which impacts everything from funding to political representation. CA/HI NAACP Legislative and Public Affairs Specialist Dominique Donette and CA/HI NAACP member Herb Wesson III will educate members on the Redistricting process and lead participants through an interactive session on how to get more involved in their communities.

This free CA/HI NAACP Virtual Town Hall is open to all!
